ABB launches the SWIFTI™ CRB 1300 industrial collaborative robot with a maximum payload handling capacity of up to 11 kilograms. It can be used in various production and product handling applications, such as palletizing and pick-and-place.Compared to other collaborative robots in its class, SWIFTI CRB 1300 can increase production efficiency by up to 44%. In typical palletizing applications, SWIFTI's speed and performance enable it to handle up to 13 boxes per minute, while other collaborative robots in the same category may handle 9 boxes.
SWIFTI CRB 1300 is powered by ABB's OmniCore™ C90XT controller, offering five times the precision of comparable collaborative robots, making it ideal for tasks requiring consistent accuracy and repeatability. Combined with a maximum speed of 6.2m/s and payload options ranging from 7kg to 11kg and 0.9 to 1.4, SWIFTI CRB 1300 can perform a range of higher payload tasks, including screw driving, assembly, pick-and-place, and palletizing. With dust and moisture protection (up to IP67), it can also be used in demanding environments, making it ideal for machine maintenance applications.
SWIFTI CRB 1300 prioritizes operator safety with ABB's SafeMove collaborative safety software integrated into safety laser scanners. These technologies enable safe collaboration without the space and cost associated with installing protective fencing or other physical barriers.
If the laser scanner detects workers in the SWIFTI operating area, ABB's SafeMove software will automatically slow down the robot's speed or stop completely. When workers leave, movement resumes, with full speed restored only after the work area is completely cleared to achieve maximum productivity. As an additional safety measure, built-in interaction status lights provide visual indication of the collaborative robot's status when staff are in the work area. The integration of scanners and software is very simple, with SafeMove's software plug-ins allowing staff to quickly set up safe work zones and other safety features using the handheld FlexPendant operating unit.
The same simplicity applies to programming the SWIFTI CRB 1300. Users can program the robot by physically guiding it through a process (teach programming) or through ABB's new Wizard Easy Programming software. Wizard Easy Programming is based on simple graphic blocks, enabling even non-robotics professionals to program the robot.
