The 2021 World Manufacturing Conference recently opened in Hefei, Anhui Province. The World Manufacturing Conference released data showing that China's manufacturing sector overall maintains a recovery trend, with new achievements in high-quality development. Moving forward, relevant departments will strive to promote stable operation of the manufacturing sector, further expand effective demand in the industrial sector, strengthen research on key core technologies and their industrial application, cultivate advanced manufacturing clusters, while further advancing digital transformation and green low-carbon development of manufacturing, accelerating the cultivation of quality enterprises. Current global manufacturing continues to recover and develop facing new challenges, with increased instability and uncertainty factors, also presenting new and higher requirements for manufacturing development.
Released data shows that from January to October, the added value of large-scale industrial enterprises increased by 10.9% year-on-year, with a two-year average growth of 6.3%. "Since this year, China's manufacturing sector has overcome multiple difficulties and challenges, maintaining an overall recovery trend with new achievements in high-quality development, providing strong support for stable economic growth and making important contributions to world economic recovery," said Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology. Moving forward, MIIT will strengthen innovation-driven development, promote transformation and upgrading, focus on maintaining basically stable manufacturing share, advancing industrial foundation modernization and industrial chain modernization, continuously improving manufacturing quality, efficiency, and core competitiveness, accelerating the pace of building a manufacturing powerhouse.
Xin Guobin stated that efforts will focus on promoting stable operation of manufacturing, accelerating the implementation of the "14th Five-Year Plan" series of industrial and informatization plans, expanding effective demand in the industrial sector, and improving the quality of the manufacturing supply system. Efforts will focus on enhancing the stability and competitiveness of industrial chains and supply chains, coordinating to address weaknesses while strengthening strengths, strengthening research on key core technologies and their industrial application, deeply implementing the industrial foundation reconstruction project, promoting optimization and upgrading of the entire industrial chain, and cultivating advanced manufacturing clusters. Focus on advancing digital transformation of manufacturing, strengthening construction of new information infrastructure, accelerating innovative development of industrial internet, promoting deep integration of next-generation information technology with manufacturing, and promoting digital, networked, and intelligent development of manufacturing.
Meanwhile, further promotion of green low-carbon development of manufacturing will occur, implementing carbon peak and carbon neutrality deployment requirements, implementing industrial low-carbon actions and green manufacturing projects, promoting energy-saving and carbon reduction transformations in key industries, breaking through a batch of green manufacturing technologies and equipment, developing green low-carbon industries, and building a green manufacturing system. Cultivating and developing quality enterprises, stimulating and protecting entrepreneur spirit, cultivating "little giant" enterprises, single champion enterprises, and industrial chain navigation enterprises, promoting integrated innovation development of large, medium, and small enterprises.
Ma Jiantang, Secretary-General of the Development Research Center of the State Council, stated that basic research in the field of digital economy will be strengthened, critical core technology research will be enhanced; meanwhile, accelerating construction of new infrastructure such as 5G networks, big data centers, and industrial internet will provide solid guarantees for the digital transformation of the real economy; establishing and improving data trading laws, regulations, and regulatory frameworks, actively cultivating new data service formats, and promoting further opening and trading of data.
