Columbia/Okura's new miniPAL® 2.0 is a mobile palletizing product driven by a UR10e collaborative robotic arm. The flexible miniPAL® has a total workspace footprint of 11"x13" and can palletize at two pallet positions to optimize productivity. It increases payload capacity to 12.5 kilograms and replaces pressure-sensitive safety mats with area safety scanners. The latest design of this collaborative robot includes detection of the loading work area safety scanner. This ensures safe operation (collaborative mode) when workers are present, while allowing the miniPAL® to run at maximum rate when personnel are not in the palletizing work area. The system plugs into 110V AC power and can be set up within hours. Installation can achieve an average ROI within 8 to 10 months depending on application and industry.
This solution creates new possibilities for heavier payloads. The compact design also includes an automatic lifting column for high loads, dual stacking positions for continuous load building, built-in fork pockets for easy mobility, and user-friendly intuitive pattern-building software.
